Scalp micropigmentation aftercare?

For most clients, the SMP healing process is incredibly straightforward and requires minimal downtime. While the treatment itself is immediate, proper aftercare is essential to ensure your pigment settles perfectly and stays crisp for years to come. Your long-term results are our priority, and we will ensure your healing process goes as smoothly as possible.

What are the rules for the first few days?

  1. Keep it dry: You will need to avoid washing your scalp or letting water run over your head in the shower.
  2. No heavy sweating: Take a brief break from intense gym sessions, saunas, and strenuous fitness. Heavy sweating can push the pigment out before it has the chance to settle into the upper dermis.
  3. Hands off: We know it can be tempting, but avoid touching your scalp to prevent any bacteria from entering the precise micro-dots.

What to expect?

As the upper layer of your skin naturally heals, it is completely normal for your scalp to feel slightly itchy, dry, or to experience some mild flaking. This is just a sign that your body is recovering.

Around day five, you can begin lightly washing your scalp with warm water and a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. Ensure you avoid scratching or picking at the skin, and keep your head protected from prolonged, direct UV sunlight by wearing a soft, loose-fitting hat when outdoors.
