Some Things You Should Know

Scalp Micropigmentation has become a leading treatment for male pattern baldness. And there are a few reasons for that:

  • SMP is a non-surgical hair loss solution. It’s a process where microneedles are used to deposit pigment just under the skin.
  • SMP is fast, reliable, and has no extensive recovery time—especially when compared to other common treatment options.
  • Every SMP treatment is customised. We’ll find you a look that appears natural, feathered, age-appropriate and… genuinely good.
  • SMP works for hair loss at every stage. It can be seen as a proactive step or as a reactive step. You don’t have to wait to be bald to use SMP HQ.

Our Process

Wondering what the different stages of SMP treatment are? Below is our process. All you have to do to get started is book a consultation.

Initial Consultation

This is where we get to know you. Our practitioners will take the time to understand the look you want, and your scalp condition. Then, we’ll show you how our SMP solution can achieve what you’re looking for.

From here, we’ll create a customised SMP plan that takes several things into account; things like your hairline, desired hair density, and general aesthetic.

First
Treatment

The big day has arrived. On your treatment day, we’ll begin by ensuring you’re comfortable and all your questions are answered. We’ll then use state-of-the-art equipment to apply pigment to the upper dermis of your scalp.

At the end of this precise process, you’ll leave the clinic with instant results. Immediate impact is the great promise of SMP treatment.

Follow-Up Procedures

In the majority of cases, you’ll need a second appointment in order to get the full effect of your SMP treatment. While the first treatment will provide the bulk of the look, SMP is about precision; and we’re perfectionists.

So in the follow-up procedures, we’ll add touch-ups and fill out the look with adjustments to the density and darkness of the pigment. One month after the second session, a third is often recommended to apply the finishing touches.

Post-Treatment Care

Part of the SMP HQ difference is our after-care and support. We’ll provide you with comprehensive post-care instructions. With this info, our clients achieve long-lasting outcomes with optimal healing times.

From here, our clients may choose to have periodic touch-ups down the track. These can be expected every 3-5 years. But we’re always happy for our clients to get in touch and ask questions.

Does it hurt?

We get asked this all the time. Pain is subjective. But let’s just say it’s not uncommon to have clients fall asleep during their appointments.

Does it stop future hair growth?

Absolutely not. Hair follicles are much deeper under the skin than our microneedles go. As a result, SMP treatment does no damage to them.

Am I a fit for SMP?

Do you have less hair than you would like? Then yes, we’d say you’re a great fit for SMP treatment!

But it fades eventually, right?

Yes. But trust us, this is a good thing! You do not want to have the hairline of a 28-year-old at 75. Realistically, you might need a touch-up roughly every 3-5 years.

Will my friends know?

Only if you tell them.
